DR. BINH NGUYEN

About

​

As a sculptor and painter, Dr. Nguyen calls on his creative side when solving challenging problems with plastic surgery.  He finds it rewarding to help people work through the process of recovery, restoring both form and function taken by disease, as well as achieve their aesthetic goals.  

​

Dr. Nguyen places an emphasis on aligning with patient's objectives and expectations before surgery, making them feel comfortable as they work together to achieve the desired results.  With a background in research and publishing, Dr. Nguyen continues to stay abreast of new technologies in the field and employs the most advanced plastic surgical techniques to safely care for his patients.  The scope of his practice includes both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.  The two disciplines compliment one another and make him a well rounded surgeon.

Dr. Nguyen grew up in Texas, and currently lives in Cincinnati with his wife and children.  He enjoys reading, sports, traveling, and culinary adventures. ​

Education, Professional Training, and Affiliations

​

Dr. Nguyen completed his undergraduate training at the University of Texas, Austin.  He went on to study medicine at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.  Drawn to the surgical fields, he spent the next seven years training in General Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch and Vascular Surgery research at Harvard University. At Brigham and Women's Hospital, he spent two years honing his micro-surgical skills, and wrote numerous publications on fat cells, inflammation, and wound healing.  His passion for creativity and the arts led him to a career in Plastic Surgery, where he completed his training at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and Shriner's Hospital for burn patients.  He currently practices the full breadth of plastic surgery at TriHealth, including both aesthetics and reconstruction.

Dr. Nguyen is board certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  He places importance on educating the next generation of surgeons and is an active teaching faculty at the University of Cincinnati Plastic Surgery Program.  He continues to give back to the community by participating in the Alliance in Reconstructive Surgery Foundation, helping make reconstruction possible for patients with financial hardship.  ​
